Kodoji Press is an independent publishing house focused on contemporary art and photography based in Baden, Switzerland.

The imagery found in the titles presented in this selection range from the grandiose to the frightening to the silly: “Jet Master: A Visual Strategy” explores the misleadingly harmonious visual motifs found in publicity photos for aircraft and weapons dealers, while “Trouble Mit Der Anima” discovers one reoccurring motif in particular, that of the smiley face, concealed in plates of food. “Future History” uses photographs of 1930s architecture to examine Italian Rationalism and Modernism. “Bon Voyage” combines high- and low-brow in a single publication, rendering images of an art museum in red-and-blue stereoscopy traditionally associated with early 3d movies (fear not, the edition comes with a pair of 3d glasses).

Veronika Spierenburg’s ‘In Order of Pages’ is a book built from scanned material collected by the artist in the Sitterwerk library in St Gallen, Switzerland. Pulled from publications covering exhibition documentation, art history, architecture, and fabrication techniques, each page retains the pagination from its original source to create a conceptual work about sequence, patterning and influence.
